About

Hi, I’m Jessica Wheeler.
I'm a passionate Web & Graphic Designer with a strong focus on user experience, accessibility, and visual storytelling. With over three years of experience, I design clean, functional websites and digital content for both private clients and federal agencies.
Currently, I work full-time as a Web Designer and Accessibility Specialist at a women-owned environmental and health science consulting firm. I lead responsive web design projects, build high-fidelity prototypes, manage digital marketing campaigns, and ensure full Section 508 and WCAG compliance. As a federal contractor, I’ve contributed to web redesign projects for agencies like the NIH Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) and the EPA’s Asthma Community Network (ACN). In these roles, I helped improve usability, accessibility, and visual cohesion—executed in collaboration with internal teams.
I specialize in modernizing outdated websites to be more engaging, intuitive, and aligned with today’s web standards. My approach blends aesthetics, usability, and strategic thinking to create user-centered experiences that deliver results.
I hold a B.S. in Web Design & Development from Champlain College (summa cum laude), along with certifications as a DHS Trusted Tester, Asana Workflow Specialist, and in PHP Programming. I'm fluent in Spanish and skilled in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, front-end code, CMS/CRM systems, and SEO strategy.
Whether designing an inclusive interface, building a landing page, or optimizing a campaign, I bring creativity, empathy, and purpose to every project.
Let’s build something beautiful—and functional—together.
